We made orange shirts.
We took part in National Orange Shirt day to remember and honour Aboriginal students from Residential Schools. We read the book "Shi-shi-etko" about a little girl who was getting ready to go to a Residential School. We talked about how it was a bit scary for us when we started school. Shi-shi-etko had to leave her family to go to school and we all agreed how hard that would have been! We discussed how "Every Child Matters" and how we wanted to honour all those children who had to leave their families to go to school. We made orange shirts.
