We also have rainbow glasses, a rainbow maker, and also things that have rainbows on them.
Living, Loving, Learning in Kindergarten |
We started our "Colours of the Rainbow" theme by graphing our favourite colours. The children all made bluebirds for our classroom. The children were involved in a number colour blending experiences. It's one thing for us to read about making secondary colours from primary colours, but it's better for us to do it and see it for ourselves. So the children made rainbows using the three primary colours. How did we get six colours from three? By leaving spaces between each colour and then carefully blending them together. They also spent a lot of time with eyedroppers and coloured water creating many new colours. For one of our science experiments we observed frozen primary coloured ice cubes mix together to create three new secondary colours as they melted. It was a very exciting to observe the change!
