The children got a chance to rotate through four different stations at the dental centre. They got to experience making thumb statues, they met "Mr. Thirsty" and "Mr. Windy" (some of the tools that the hygienists use), they got a smiley face put on their thumb nail with the laser that the dentist uses to clean out cavities, they got to go on chair rides, and they saw a couple of short videos about dental care. It was a fun learning experience! We celebrated the Day of Secwentwecw on Thursday. Mrs. Regan's and Mrs. Ewashina's classes performed songs, and read poems and legends for us. We read the story "Setetkwe Meets Coyote and Grizzly". The children made their own Darkness Bear and Light Coyote characters on the sun and moon. With our big buddies we all made paper bag teepees. The children decorated them with air, nature, and animal symbols. |
