This week some of the children enjoyed making Easter bunny puppets. We ended the week with a school-wide Bunny Hop. What a fun way to send the children off for Easter weekend. Hoppy Easter, everyone!

Sometimes we get lost in the "busy-ness" of the day and forget to take time to appreciate our friends. We took some time to meet together as a class and share with each other how someone filled our buckets. We know that when we fill other peoples' buckets we also fill our own. We talked about how this made us feel! Our class bucket is getting very full! We were sure entertained by the dogs and we especially enjoyed the puppies! The older dogs were very well trained and listened and followed the commands by their owner.
This last week for Show & Tell, we had baby visits. E. brought his baby sister who is about two and a half months old and B. brought her baby brother who was born about eight months ago.
As a part of math we did some graphing using Smarties. The children each got their own little box of Smarties and then had to create a graph with the colours of the Smarties in their box. Interesting how different each graph was. We then asked these questions: Which colour was the most? Which colour was the least? and Are there any colours that are the same? All of these are math concepts that we are working on. The children then compared and talked about their graphs with a partner. The best part was getting to eat them when we were done!! Today we had our first session of gymnastics at TCC. They sure had fun! Here are some photos of our afternoon: We were lucky to welcome Olympic silver-medalist, Jessica Hewitt, to our school today. The students greeted her with cheers and flag-waving. She brought her Olympic medal for us to see and she wanted every single student to touch it. How exciting! Jessica talked to the students about following their dreams and working hard to achieve them. She let them know that it's not easy but it requires determination. A great lesson for the children to hear! Waiting for Jessica Hewitt to arrive.
