Last Friday we celebrated diversity, acceptance and a better understanding of Autism with our fourth annual Canucks Autism Network Walk. The We Can Be Friends program helps children celebrate all differences. We began the afternoon with an assembly where we watched a video about Rosie, a young girl who has autism, and some of her other autistic friends and family members. We listened to Nan Stevens speak about living with her son, Westin, who has autism. After the assembly we joined up with our buddies and walked the dike with them. At the train bridge we met up with Digger who was there to high five all the students. We were very lucky that the weather held out for us! Thanks to Cooper's Foods for supplying water bottles for everyone after our walk!
